Andrew Tate charged with human trafficking and rape

In Romania, controversial influencer Andrew Tate has been accused of rape, human trafficking, and organizing a criminal organization to sexually exploit women.

There are also charges against his brother Tristan and two friends. All of them have denied the claims.

On Wednesday, the Tate brothers made their first court appearance.

Andrew Tate stated as he left the courtroom: I adore this nation and anticipate being found innocent.

In December, the brothers were initially detained at their Bucharest residence before being placed under house arrest in March.

According to the indictment filed with the Bucharest court, the four defendants formed an organized criminal group in 2021 with the intention of engaging in human trafficking not only in Romania but also in other nations, such as the United States and the United Kingdom.

According to the report, the Tate brothers recruited seven alleged victims through deceptive promises of love and marriage.

The supposed casualties were subsequently taken to structures in Ilfov region in Romania where they were scared, set under consistent reconnaissance and control and constrained into obligation, as per an assertion from Romanian examiners.

The women are said to have been coerced into participating in pornography, which was then shared on social media.

The statement adds that one defendant is accused of raping a woman twice in March 2022.

The trial is expected to last several years and will not begin immediately.

Before a case can be sent to trial, a Romanian judge now has 60 days to inspect the files.

The Tate Brothers' media team stated: We welcome the chance to prove their innocence and save their reputation, despite the fact that this news was certain to come.

The indictment also "allows us to present a comprehensive body of evidence, diligently collected and prepared over time, which will undoubtedly substantiate the brothers' claims of innocence," according to the statement.

Money laundering and child trafficking are two additional charges that are still under investigation and could result in a separate indictment.

In 2016, Andrew Tate, an English American previous kickboxer, was eliminated from the English Television program Older Sibling over a video that seemed to show him going after a lady.

After that, he became well-known online, and he was banned from Twitter for saying that women should "bear some responsibility" for being sexually assaulted. He has been reinstated since then.

By promoting what he presented as a hyper-masculine, ultra-luxurious lifestyle, he gained popularity, particularly among young men, despite social media bans.
